Western Sydney-based disability support organisation Thorndale Foundation confirmed it launched an investigation into extortion and breach claims made by the Qilin ransomware group. Threat actors listed the Nepean and Hawkesbury-focused non-profit on their dark web leak portal, releasing sensitive exfiltrated records including passport scans and confidentiality agreements to prove system compromise. Thorndale Foundation acknowledged awareness of the claims and initiated incident response procedures alongside external IT security advisors to evaluate network integrity and assess data exposure.
