Global online fashion retailer ASOS confirmed an investigation into unauthorized cyber activity after threat actors compromised its Snowflake cloud data platform. Australian and UK customers received threatening push notifications on their mobile devices directing ASOS IT and Data Protection teams to engage on Telegram or face public leakage of exfiltrated data. ASOS confirmed that basic customer information including names and contact details may have been accessed, while stating passwords and payment card information remain uncompromised.
